Recently I was given the opportunity to interview a volunteer, Marley Boykin, who helped during the annual move-in day at the University of Arkansas last August. I heard of this story because some of my close friends had also participated in this event, and found it very beneficial not only for the incoming freshmen but also for themselves. I was able to interview Boykin and evaluate the magnitude that her volunteering experience gave her. Interviewing usually comes with a certain awkwardness and anticipation, but Boykin’s light-hearted personality made the pressure of questions feel quite enjoyable. Along with the interview, I incorporated cover shots into the video that described Boykin’s character, and how she goes about a regular day in her life. The editing process was time-consuming, but rewarding once I saw the final result. Overall, I found this project to be the most helpful because it allowed me to work on areas that I had never incorporated into a video before. I also enjoyed my time with Boykin and learning about the move-in day process at the University of Arkansas.
